Donald Trump Employee Accused Him of Sex/Gender Discrimination

The ever-bombastic Donal Trump is being accused of sex discrimination by a member of his former campaign staff.

Trump’s former field organizer in Davenport, Iowa, Elizabeth Mae Davidson, 26, made a discrimination complaint against Trump, alleging that she was paid less than the men on her team and that she was unable to speak at rallies even though her male counterparts were allowed to do so. While Davidson was paid $2,000 per month, public records reveal that her male counterparts, who bared the same title as she, received $3,500-$4,000 a month.

She also alleges that Trump made comments about the physical appearance of her and another woman at a rally last summer, saying that they could both “do some damage.” Trump denies making the remark, though he did not mention the other two allegations. He chalks Davidson’s behavior to just being a “disgruntled employee.”

Davidson made a formal complaint with the Davenport Civil Rights Commission. The New York Times published the complaint the day before the Iowa caucus and then Davidson was fired exactly one day after the article was published on January 14, 2016. Davidson alleges that she was fired from the campaign as a result of filing the complaint though her employer claims that Davidson was fired for making “disparaging comments about senior campaign leaders to third parties” and for violating a nondisclosure clause in her contract. Davidson says the termination has since hurt her reputation in the field.
